Kanto Introduces the All-New ORA - Everything a desktop speaker should be.
The Kanto ORA bridges the gap between computer speakers and studio monitors, offering reference-quality sound in a desktop-friendly size. It features versatile 🔗 connectivity with USB-C for your PC/Mac, ✂️ Bluetooth 5.0, and RCA for analog gear. An intelligent crossover automatically integrates a subwoofer, freeing up the 🔈 3” woofers and ¾” tweeters to produce pristine, detailed audio.
Delivers Accurate Sound With 3” Woofer and ¾” Tweeter
ORA’s 🔈 ¾” silk dome tweeters deliver smooth, extended treble tuned for fatigue-free listening. Its carefully designed waveguide enhances vertical dispersion, giving ORA wide directivity that sounds just as good upright or sideways. Despite a compact 3” woofer, ORA offers impressive low-end extension while being able to add a subwoofer if desired.
Delivers Superior Sound In A Compact Design
Let’s start with the most obvious external detail – ORA’s size. At only 25% larger in volume than YU2, the compact desktop standard, ORA dials up sound quality by several orders. It’s narrow enough to fit sideways under a monitor, perfect for ultrawide or dual setups. Compared to 🎙️ studio monitors, ORA is tiny, you can fit ten in the space of just two Yamaha HS5’s. While monitors deliver great sound, they dominate small spaces, need external interfaces, and can sound flat. ORA solves these issues with a smaller footprint, no extra gear required, and sound that comes close to studio-grade without being overly analytical
Magnetically Shielded For Detailed Audio Presention
ORA’s woofer includes magnetic shielding, a feature once standard to prevent distortion in CRT monitors. Though phased out with LCDs, we brought it back for retro gaming. Older games relied on CRT pixel shapes, scan lines, and smoothing for their 2D art. With ORA, retro gamers can place speakers beside a CRT or PVM to hear every square wave and sawtooth in 📌 stunning detail.
Versatile Connectivity - Connect Wired Or Wirelessly
An RCA input supports older gaming consoles or analog gear like turntables and cassette players. A 🔗 USB-C input bypasses poor onboard audio on PC or Mac, supporting up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Bluetooth® 5.0 rounds out the inputs, connecting easily to iPhone, Android, or smart home devices.”
Tactile Volume Controls and LED Indicators
The front LED shows Green for 🔗 RCA , Yellow for USB, and Blue for Bluetooth® depending on the input. The front knob switches inputs with a press, adjusts volume when turned, powers off with a long press, and back on with a tap. On the rear, a ¼”-20 hole allows mounting ORA to a wall or compatible stand.
Adopts DSP Tuning For Accurate Audio Presentation
A traditional crossover splits high and low frequencies with analog components. ORA uses full DSP to set crossover points digitally, giving more precise control of the range sent to each driver. DSP also manages the sub-out, filtering below 100 Hz with a steep 24 dB/octave slope when a sub is connected. A complimentary high-pass filter lets ORA’s 3” woofers focus on midrange, reducing distortion and enabling louder, cleaner transients.
Active Speaker Design With Class-D Amplifier And Bi-Ampified Architecture
Kanto has designed many powered speakers, but ORA is their first active model. Each driver is separately powered and tuned through a bi-amplified design. Instead of splitting the signal between left and right channels, ORA’s 50 W RMS class-D amplifier is divided into four channels, sending 9 W to each tweeter and 16 W to each woofer.
