FiiO K17 houses flagship DAC chips from AKM featuring the AK4191 and two AK4499EX chips handling one channel for a precisely balanced audio output. It houses an advanced 8-channel-to-4-channel low-pass filter (LPF) design that minimises common-mode interference for an enhanced channel separation and dynamic range. The architecture boasts fully separated digital and analogue sections and incorporates AKM's proprietary "DWA ROUTING" technology for exceptionally clean high-quality audio.

Discrete Class AB Headphone Amplifier Circuit For High Performance

FiiO K17 incorporates a discrete amplifier circuit for headphones, utilising an OP+ transistor current amplification design with ON Semiconductor’s MJE243/253 transistors to achieve a high current with low output impedance. The result is a powerful balanced output of over 4000mW per channel, capable of driving a wide range of headphones effortlessly.

It features USB decoding powered by the XMOS 16-core XU316 that supports up to 768kHz/32bit, DSD512 and MQA full decoding. The Optical decoding receives digital audio via optical input. The single-ended line input amplifies the single-ended analogue signals. The Coaxial decoding processes digital audio via coaxial input. The balanced line input amplifies balanced analogue signals. It features Qualcomm QCC5125, which supports Bluetooth 5.1 and aptX HD/Adaptive/LDAC codecs. It supports Roon Ready and AirPlay for seamless streaming and supports USB drives and portable hard drives for local playback.

FiiO K17 employs a custom-designed low-noise 35W linear power supply with 5 large 4700μF electrolytic capacitors to provide ample power reserves for stable power delivery. It features separate power supplies for digital and analogue circuits to prevent crosstalk and interference. The analogue circuit is powered by a multi-stage analogue power supply with each stage featuring a dedicated power control circuit for the digital-to-analogue conversion, low-pass filter (LPF) and transistors. It incorporates low-noise with high PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) TPA7A47/7A33 LDO serve as secondary voltage regulators to deliver clean and stable power for each stage.
